For a light sleeper, I think you mean the round white light in front of your laptop on the Open button. Sorry for my bad description.
Light sleep is also an indicator of power.

Yes, quite normal to see that the light sleep when they sleep.
My PowerBook only light stays on when I close the computer. If I turn off completely, the light is not lit.
