What type of certification would one need to fly a homebuilt/kit airplane? - homebuilt airplane store wing
I would like to add that if the aircraft meets the LSA rule, you only need a certificate of Light Sport. CERT Pilot Sport takes only 20 hours. Otherwise, as someone said, you (and the same certificate) to this day as if it were a certificate of the aircraft. (ie the single-engine land, multi, etc.)
See the link below. Many certified airplanes kits / experiments and the observance of the rule of sports lighting.

The same certificate is required to operate an aircraft factory of this kind.
A private pilot certificate is sufficient. Monkey with multiple motors or motor functions, as for his own aircraft required.
The exception is for ultra-lightweight (less than 254 pounds). You can fly these aircraft without a pilot license.
provided that you comply with FAR Part 103 and you need to live in the United States no license ay! You must also wouldnt Education
A PPL (Private Pilot License), 25 hours and 15 hours solo and Atlee duel. You need 40-45 hours for PPL.
